Prerequisites
Complete these steps once before sending your first DG shipment.
Declare Dangerous Goods in Shipper Central
Navigate to Shipper Central → Settings → Operations → Dangerous Goods → Declare Dangerous Goods.
Select the UNIDs you intend to ship and accept the DG Addendum.
Ensure API access
Your application needs the Direct-to-Consumer Shipping or Amazon Logistics role.
Verify in Seller Central: Partner Network → Develop Apps → Edit App → Roles.
Set your marketplace header
Always Include x-amzn-shipping-business-id in every request:

How to Ship Dangerous Goods
To purchase a DG shipping label, include your DG declaration alongside your standard shipment details (addresses, dimensions, weight) when calling getRates or oneClickShipment. Amazon Shipping validates your declaration upfront and returns available services. If using the GetRates flow, select a service and call purchaseShipment to receive your label.
The DG attributes you need to provide vary by marketplace:

UK: While not mandatory, it's highly recommended to provide DG information at item level. Doing so allows your non-hazardous shipments to be delivered to areas with DG postcode restrictions. If you don't include these details, all your shipments will be subject to account-level restrictions, limiting where your non-DG items can be sent.

Important Notes:
- Only one UNID type per package is permitted. Devices containing two different UNIDs are not supported at this time
- Multiple items of the same UNID are permitted within the package, subject to quantity limits at item level.
- DG and non-DG items can be shipped together in the same package (e.g., a phone case + lithium battery device).
- DG does not impact shipping rates. However, postcode coverage restrictions may apply to DG shipments.

Permissible Chemicals & Limits
Amazon Shipping supports permissible Dangerous Goods under Class 2, specifically divisions 2.1 and 2.2 (Gases), Class 3 (Flammable Liquids), and Class 9 (Lithium Batteries) for ground transport.
